At ALPHA60 our focus centres on creating high quality garments of timeless and durable design and production—to be worn and loved across numerous seasons and trends.

We are committed to making better choices across the business, to improve all of our processes to limit the impact that we have on the environment and always produce product within fair and safe guidelines.

Our collections are designed and curated within our studio in Collingwood, Melbourne.

Our production lines are end to end—with no outsourcing during the CMT process. This allows us to ensure that working conditions are not compromised at any time due to unknown outsourcing.

Throughout our collections we ensure we source high quality fabrics. We use a combination of natural fibres such as; cottons, linens, silks and wools — as well as durable synthetic fibres such as; polyester, viscose and tencel. We have never, and will never use any fur or exotic leathers in our production.

Throughout the design and production process, we use enterprise technology and reporting tools. These tools provide us with data and analytics, allowing us to produce accurate smaller quantities and size curves.

We work on a direct to consumer business model. By cutting out the middleman, we are able to ensure we have more control and visibility — and charge approachable prices for a higher-quality, long lasting product.

As a company we look at ways to constantly improve the sustainability aspect of our processes and practices.

90% of our garments are made within one family owned factory in Humen, China. We have had an ongoing relationship with this factory for many years and continue to closely monitor and work with the team to maintain fair and ethical working conditions — visiting the factory biannually.

ALPHA60 is the primary customer for this factory also and we have been working with them to ensure that conditions are good and fair.

Both ALPHA60 and our factory, work with very small, limited runs — helping further manage conditions.

The high quality that we demand in our production at ALPHA60 requires skilled employees and as a result the wages are well above the minimum for the region. We also always ensure company wide that as skill levels of employees increase — wages also increase. 

The lowest paid employee is paid two times above the minimum wage amount and as skill levels of the employees increase, wages also increase.

The employees within our factories are both highly skilled and highly experienced. No under aged employees will be employed at any factory ALPHA60 work with.

Printing, pleating and embroidery require specialist machines that are operated externally and run by trusted independent factories to the primary. We do so and will continue to inspect and work with these factories to ensure that conditions meet and exceed our requirements.

We love how our customers build strong and stylish Alpha60 wardrobes, pairing new interesting pieces with their Alpha60 classics and favourites.

 Alpha60 collections are available for purchased online and from our nine boutiques across Australia and New Zealand throughout the duration of a season.

At the end of each season any remaining stock is transferred to a local warehouse of ours, before it becomes available again. Remaining past season styles, samples and seconds — then become available at our very own outlet store in Fitzroy, Melbourne — this helps us ensure that no Alpha60 garment ever finds itself in landfill.

Despite always ensuring we provide the highest of quality of garments at all times, we also want to ensure we are always reducing any impact we have on the environment and avoiding wastage.

At ALPHA60 we will always opt to repair any issues with a garment internally, before replacing with another garment — further ensuring no ALPHA60 pieces go to waste.

In the last few years, we have reduced our single use plastics by 90% — implementing a company wide program to eliminate all single use plastics within our production and postage processes.

We will continue to make adjustments and improvements in this space to further reduce our impact on the environment.
